KEYS!!!

Jesus said,
"I am the Living One; I was dead,
and behold I am alive for ever and ever!
And I hold the keys...."
Revelation 1:18

He also said,
"I will give you the keys
of the kingdom of heaven;
whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven,
and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven."
Matthew 16:19

Just an orange?

The simple beauty...

...of "Just an orange"!

"He has made everything beautiful in its time.
He has also set eternity in the hearts of men;
yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end."

Ecclesiastes 3:11

Cardinal in the snow

With the coming of the snow, my bird feeder was crowded!
Of course, when I stepped foot outside my door with my camera,
most of them quickly vanished with a "whoosh" of fluttering wings!

Me? Be Holy?

But just as He who called you is holy,
so be holy in all you do;
for it is written:
"Be holy, because I am holy."

I don't know about you,
but I know that I cannot of myself be holy -
so how can God expect this of me?

It was very difficult for me to watch the movie
"The Passion of the Christ",
but I think it best depicts how I can be holy.
It's not my holiness;
it's the holiness of Christ Jesus imparted to me.

"Yet now He has reconciled you to Himself
through the death of Christ in His physical body.
As a result, He has brought you into His own presence,

and you are holy and blameless
as you stand before him without a single fault."
Colossians 1:22

Wow!
So, yes, ...God declares me holy!
It's not what I do...
It's what He has done for me!
Amazing!

Grace

What do you think of when you hear the word "GRACE"?
Do you think of things that move with grace?

... Like this peacock that moves with grace...
...Or can you even see grace in a picture like this?
Yes, that's our house under that tree...
This photo was taken after the January 2009 ice storm.
After we trimmed away two-thirds of the tree's broken parts,
it wept and wept.
Large drops of water would land on our heads or clothing
as we walked under it.

Grace has many definitions and takes many forms.
(Click on the highlighted word above to see what Webster has to say about grace.)
On Rock4Today  featuring "Names of God on Rocks",
"God of all Grace" was the name chosen for this week.
The basis for it was taken from 1 Peter 5:10,
which talks about the "God of all Grace"
restoring us AFTER we have suffered awhile.

Grace is what God gives me
to make it through the trials of life.
So much is said in the Bible about God's grace.
When I am at my lowest point,
it is God's grace that carries me through.
2 Corinthians 12:9 says
"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."

This little tree in front of our house is just an example of God's restoring power.
This picture was taken about 6 months after the ice storm.
Compared to how large the tree used to be,
what was left was so small,
and made me feel that our house was naked and exposed.

I looked and looked for some recent pictures of this tree that I have on file.
...The trouble is, I've got a new computer,
and I'm quite unfamiliar with Windows 8.
Although I looked and looked, I could not find the picture

that I wanted to show how this little tree has been restored.
But the tree has filled out again.
This picture was taken in late summer from our little front porch

as I looked through its leaves toward the sunrise.

Why did I spend so much time looking for that picture of the tree?
Because it is a picture of God's grace to me.
What seems at times to be unbearable and beyond repair,
He restores.
Thank God for His grace!
