Apple Thief!
This morning this bird was hiding in my apple tree enjoying the fruit. He finally came out for a photo-op, but I still couldn't tell what kind of bird he was until I heard him sing! The unmistakable loud mewing gave it away. It was a catbird.
Beautiful Joy. I so enjoy your birds because they are different than the birds here. But I can't find the translation from English to Dutch. Catbird ... Do you have the Latin name for me :-)

The Catbirds are fun to see in your yard! Great sighting and photo!
In answer to Jedidja above, according to Wikipedia, I believe the name of the catbird comes from the Latin "Dumetella carolinensis".
oh, how cool! i'd love to see a catbird in person. we have mockingbirds here but no catbirds. :)
I have never seen one, a lovely shot!
Beautiful photo!
Have a wonderful day!

I guess you had apples enough for the catbird. Nice of it to pose for you. :)
its funny but I bet you know so many more birds by their call .... nice post
I adore Gray Catbirds and their mewing most assuredly gives them away. Sometimes I get their voice and Yellow Bellied Sapsuckers confused~
Yes! I really like this thief of apples! Greetings!
