What Does Grace Do For Me?

What are the Benefits of Grace?
(Lesson 6 of "A Taste of Grace")
God's GRACE is an outgrowth of His LOVE,
and
His benefits are innumerable!
However, I'll do my best to list some of them that I have found ---
either from His Word or from my own experience as I learn to know Him!
"Bless the LORD, O my soul,
And forget not all His benefits!"
Psalm 103:1
1. I now am RIGHTEOUS!
I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus!
"Through ONE MAN'S righteous act,
the free gift came to all men...
By One Man's obedience,
many will be made RIGHTEOUS."
And GRACE reigns through righteousness!
Romans 5:17-21
"Because of His (God's) grace, He DECLARED us RIGHTEOUS,
and gave us confidence that we will inherit eternal life."
Titus 3:7 NLT
"This RIGHTEOUSNESS from God comes
through faith in Jesus Christ to ALL WHO BELIEVE...
and are justified freely by His GRACE...

2. We become a part of God's FAMILY!  |
| The "Old Covenant" or "Law" was written on tablets of stone. By God's grace, we are "accepted into God’s covenant family and appointed to be His heirs..." Titus 3:7 (The Voice Translation) In Jeremiah 31:31-34
God promises to write His "New Covenant" on our hearts!
He says, "I will put my instructions deep within them,
and I will write them on their hearts..."
How does He do this? 3. By the GIFT of His Holy Spirit! "The law always ended up being used as a Band-Aid on sin instead of a deep healing of it. And now what the law code asked for, but we couldn’t deliver is accomplished as we, instead of redoubling our own efforts, simply embrace what the Spirit is doing in us." (Passage from Romans 8 The Message Translation) "I will pour water on him that is thirsty, and floods on the dry ground... My SPIRIT..." Isaiah 44:3 "Anyone who believes in Me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, 'Rivers of Living Water shall flow from his heart'. When He said 'Living Water', He was speaking of the Spirit, Who would be given to everyone believing in Him..." John 7:38-39 4. A benefit of having the Spirit is LIFE and PEACE! "Letting the Spirit control your mind leads to LIFE and PEACE." Romans 8:6 5. The Spirit is also the One Who gives GIFTS. 1 Corinthians 12 and 13 list many of those gifts with the most important one being LOVE. Romans 12:6 says that our gifts differ according to the GRACE that is given to us, and says they are given to us to USE THEM! The Message translation says in 1 Timothy 4:14 to keep these gifts that God has given you "dusted off and in use"! |

| 6. Another of the benefits of GRACE is God's COMPASSION or LOVE for us. John says in 1 John 4:10, "We love Him because He first loved us." (Above rock featured as a Name for God on Rocks HERE.) LOVE is KING over the law! Paul says in Romans 13:10 that "Love does no harm to his neighbor. Love is the fulfillment of the law." Think about it... If you LOVE someone, you don't want to hurt them! That is one of the benefits of GRACE! When we learn to receive God's love, we are then able to dispense or share His love. We can't give what we haven't got! |

| 7. The FAITHFULNESS of God is a demonstration of His grace! "If we are unfaithful, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Who He is." 2 Timothy 2:13 NLT "The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is FAITHFUL. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand..." 1 Corinthians 10:13 |
What are a few more of the benefits?
JOY
"What JOY for those whose record the Lord has cleared from sin."
ENCOURAGEMENT
"I entrust you to God and the message of His GRACE
that is able to build you up..."
FREEDOM!
"Sin is no longer your master,
For you no longer live under the requirements of the Law.
Instead, you live under the FREEDOM of God's GRACE."
STRENGTH!
"...Your STRENGTH comes from God's GRACE..."
ACCESS to God any time!
"Let us come BOLDLY to the throne of our GRACIOUS God.
There we will receive His mercy,
and we will find GRACE to help us when we need it most!
