The Buffalo National River area is one of my favorite places. I am so fortunate to live close enough to visit it often. My husband and I both grew up close to this river; we learned to swim in it before it became a national treasure, and have capsized canoes in it more than once!
As much as I delight in the beauty of this river,
it can never satisfy me like a trip into the Word of God!
Speaking of those who delight in the Word of God, the Psalmist said, "They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do." Psalm 1:3 |
And similarly Jeremiah wrote, "They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit. Jeremiah 17:8 |

Is it a wide river? Not dangerous? Where I grew up you had 'beekjes' ( streams). With yellow sand and tadpoles :-) Very nice biblical texts.
I live close by too--but have not explored this area--yet. I know it is beautiful.
Beautiful. And the Scripture verses go along so nicely. Thank you for taking the time to share. Blessings.
I just love your photos...and now I am on my way to read your post about God's name on the rock.
Your photos are beautiful! Makes me want to visit the river! (Visiting from Beholding Glory blog hop)
Wonderful scriptures.
I LOVE tree picture! Oh, the roots in your first photo are fabulous- I want roots like that- tangled deep in Christ and stretching out in the Word. Are these trees near your home? Thanks for stopping by the Overflow today, too. Always a treat to visit a "neighbor" in the blog world.
Yet another example of creation praising Him! Visiting from Beholding Glory.
Beautiful illustrations of these verses. I claim them for our family!!
I love how you share Scripture with beautiful photos.
