YOU have been ELECTED!

I love the Christmas Season!
I am usually one of the first in the neighborhood to put up my decorations!
This year was no exception.

Since angels were the first to announce the birth of our Savior,
they outnumber the other types of ornaments on my tree.

I have quite a variety of them.

Most are small, and reflect light well.

But then there's the unusual,
like this one made out of shells,
brought to me by my granddaughter
after a trip to Hawaii.

Then there's this one that sits on the top of my tree.

But this is the one that stays up year round
and reminds me of Jesus' words from Matthew 24:31:
"And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet,
and they will gather together His elect
from the four winds,
from one end of heaven to the other."

The wonderful thing about this is,
the invitation is open to EVERY PERSON who will RSVP!
The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness.
He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish,
but EVERYONE to come to repentance.
2 Peter 3:9

Do you believe in Guardian Angels?

Many times I have thanked God for His protection of my husband.  I have often thought that he must have more than one guardian angel because of the many close calls he has had.

One morning this week before my husband Gary left to work at his tree trimming business,  he prayed for safety.

...I prayed that God would put His angels around him and his helper to protect them.

I didn't know how important that prayer might have been until a little later in the day when Gary walked in looking a bit pale and shaken.

He greeted me with the words, "You are very lucky to have a husband, and not be a widow right now!"

They had been working on a dead tree cutting off the limbs near the bottom.  They had just repositioned the bucket truck to begin working on the higher branches, when  CRASH! A large limb from above where they had been cutting came crashing down on the truck, just missing my husband by about 10 feet!

So, the next day when they went out to work on the job again,
I not only prayed ---
I also made frequent trips out to the job site.

I watched as they tied a rope around the remaining top
of the tree and secured it to Gary's pick up some distance away.

The sawdust flew as they notched the tree.
They placed increasing tension on the rope as they began cutting
 on the other side.

With relief I watched as it fell to the ground right
where they wanted it to fall, with no damage to the fence,
to the horses that were in the adjacent field,
or to the two humans who were doing the work!

Watching them repeat the procedure for the next
portion of the tree,  I was so aware of
God's protection on us frail human beings.

...And so thankful when the next big hunk
again landed where it was supposed to land!

The Angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and He delivers them.

"See, I am sending an angel before you to protect you..."

"For He will order His angels to protect you wherever you go."

What kind of angel experiences have you had?
Aren't you thankful for all the times God has used them to protect you?

"And the LORD sent an Angel..."

"King Hezekiah and the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz
CRIED OUT IN PRAYER
to heaven about this.
AND THE LORD SENT AN ANGEL..."

This morning as I was reading from my
"One Year Bible"
I was reminded of a time when I cried out
to the LORD for His help,
and I was sure He had sent an angel.

It was on an excursion to one of my favorite places
 -- Buffalo National River.
My husband is not one to back down from a challenge,
...and sometimes I wish he would!

(The picture above was taken not far from where
these events took place.
I was too busy crying out to God for help
that the thought of taking a picture at the time of crisis
never entered my mind!)

We had crossed the river many times with his Jeep,
but this time we were in his 4wheel drive truck.
The truck started losing traction,
and we felt the current begin to sweep us downstream.

Like King Hezekiah and Isaiah,
I cried out to the LORD for help.
All I could think to pray was,
"LORD, send an angel quick!"
AND HE DID!

We felt the truck straighten up,
 begin to gain traction again,
and we arrived safely on the other side of the river.
It was as if a giant hand had us in its grip.

Hebrews 1:14 says,
"Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation? "

Do YOU have an "angel story" to share?
