I've not been having very good luck at having a vegetable garden lately.
Last summer I tried a "Bag Garden" after reading about the idea in the newspaper.
It sounded like a good idea...
Use double brown paper bags like you get from the grocery store,
fill them with enhanced soil,
plant your seeds or seedlings,
surround them with mulch,
water occasionally,
and PRESTO - supposedly enjoy your harvest!
Well, that didn't work out too good.
Peaking through my lattice,
you can see this year's garden.
This was supposed to be a tomato patch
with a border of zinnias.
Well, I guess the zinnias must have loved the Miracle Grow,
because as you can see,
they took over the garden spot.
But along with the zinnias came an unexpected blessing -
BUTTERFLIES!
Unusual ones,
Beautiful ones,
...Many varieties and colors just like the zinnias!
I think I won't worry about the vegetable garden.
I'll just enjoy the crop of zinnias and butterflies that God has blessed me with!
The farmer's market will have the veggies I need!
And that's my JOY4TODAY!

Hi Esther Joy - that is so beautiful. And seeing the blessing in the veggie patch is awesome. God's beauty in all things. Great photos (and zinnias)
God bless
Tracy
O, how beautiful are your butterflies! Never seen here in Holland!
Tracy directed me here. My blog also was about butterflies yesterday. Pretty neat when God repeats a theme in two totally different blogs unknowingly. What a great God we have! Blessings ~ jen from http://richfaithrising.blogspot.com/
Hi Esther Joy, thanks for visiting and for your kind comment. I am sorry to learn about your sisters' battles with that disease. I lost a dear friend 13 years ago when she was just 48.
What a beautiful blog you have! So uplifting & inspiring! I enjoyed your beautiful butterflies & your uplifting temple post!
I also enjoyed your visit to Create With Joy & hope you'll come back soon!

P.S. I was reading your sidebar about Joy In The Mourning and choosing to live in joy no matter what your circumstances are and SO resonates with me. I've made the choice to "Create with Joy" to move pass the losses in my own life. I started my blog 6 months after my sister's tragic death. I will definitely be looking up your book! :-)
Beautiful butterflies and zinnias! What a bounty of color to enjoy!
Blessings & Aloha!
Thank you so very much for your visit and for your kind comment of the art I do.
I've never had such variety in my garden... butterfly's that is. I'd almost trade my tomato harvest for yours!!
Blessings, Debbie
