If I had to pick my least favorite bird,
it would probably be the cowbird.
"Why?" you ask...

Well, Webster's definition of vagrant is:
"One who has no established residence
and wanders idly from place to place
without lawful or visible means of support".

That's how I feel about the cowbird,
who lays its eggs in another bird's nest,
and lets them raise its young.
That wouldn't be so bad,
except, they also often kick out the other bird's eggs
before laying their own!

So, are cowbirds mentioned in the Bible?
Not that I know of,
but while looking up verses regarding irresponsible behavior

Dear oh dear, how do you warn the cowbird of the dire consequence? and if you can't, will that put you at risk?
Cow birds do what cow birds do - I dont think we should judge them for that.
But I can see why they may be popular.

Esther, you are absolutely hilarious re the hair cut. I laughed and laughed re "the canvas!" Honey, it's ok to talk about the G-d of Vengeance - as a Rev. Dr., it is the G-d of Vengeance that actually made it possible for Jesus to have so many of the means that He had to maneuver the way He needed to in order to accomplish what He did. It is also a composition of a continuum from here to there, just like us. The Divine is the Humanity is the Divine in terms of Jesus. As above, so below. I believe (and this is not supposed to be a sermon lol) that Jesus teaches us it is OK to have Vengeance in the Old Testament...to exact Justice when Justice is called for. So there you have it, the rev. samara version. but the cowbird, ok, now we are talking about quite another beast!!!! haha. just kidding. i hear ya sista...quite a nuisance. reminds me of the Guardians series of books my son and I read about those nasty owls who stole the eggs from the nests and the baby owls and transformed them to be evil...today they would be called terrorists I guess!!!! Maybe some things are not so different in the animal kingdom...like those nasty cowbirds! All in all, you are hilarious...I loved your post. Please take what I have written with a light heart. Cowbirds are not one of my favorite birds, either. However, they've figured out a way for another to assume parenting responsibilities.
