God has Feelings, too!

:)      :(

As I was drawing emoticon faces on a poster for our upcoming class about dealing with grief,
this question entered my mind:
"How many of these feelings does God have?"
Since we were made in His image,
Does that mean He experiences all the feelings we have?

I looked up a few verses to find out, and here's a few of them:
He laughs!  (Psalm 37:13)
He cries. (John 11:35)
He gets angry! (Matthew 21:12-13)
 He gets jealous! (Exodus 34:14)
He grieves, ...or maybe even gets His feelings hurt?  (Ephesians 4:30)
BUT - OH, HOW HE LOVES! (John 3:16 and 1 John 4:10)

PRAISE:
God, I am so thankful that You have feelings,
and therefore understand me, and what I am feeling.
Thank You for making me in Your image and likeness (Genesis 1:26),
so that we could relate and have a relationship with You!

PROMISE:
"It was for people like us...
That’s why He had to enter into every detail of human life.
Then, when He came before God as high priest to get rid of the people’s sins,
He would have already experienced it all Himself
—all the pain, all the testing—
and would be able to help where help was needed."

PRAYER:
LORD, help me to hold firmly to my beliefs,
because I know that You faced the same feelings as me,
and You are waiting to help me through them.  (Hebrews 4:14-16).

It is such a comfort to know that God understand all my feelings.

Hi
I am your neighbour at Fellowship Fridays. I love the verses that you found about God having emotions. Being able to see them makes it comforting to know that He understands us so well.
Blessings,
Janis

That is comforting to think about.
